Il Gateway Patton SmartNode 4554 ISDN BRI converte fino a quattro chiamate fax o telefoniche simultanee da protocollo Sip o H.323 verso ISDN BRI. Si tratta di un compatto gateway stand - alone, affidabile, progettato per sistemi VoIP abbinati agli standard ISDN in termini di qualità e prestazioni.

Paragonata alle soluzioni costruite sui PC che combinano un PBX IP e schede BRI PCI, l' SN4554 ha molteplici vantaggi: nessun bisogno di installare driver o software aggiuntivo; i nuovi servizi possono essere installati senza interruzioni dell'uptime; più SN4554 possono essere combinati e servire come cluster ridondante; non necessita di raffreddamento o hard disk; espandibile indipendentemente dalla eventuale disponibilità di slot per schede PCI. Inoltre, il vostro amministratore di sistema non dovra apprendere niente sull'ISDN poiche saranno i protocolli Sip o H.323 a sobbarcarsi il lavoro di connessione tra la linea PSTN e il vostro sistema.

L'SN4554 si integra alla perfezione nei sistemi PBX odierni, supportando tutte le loro funzionalità avanzate e mantenendo al contempo la maggior parte dei benefici derivante dalla linee IDSN, tramite la tecnologia Transparent Telephony.
